La Madonnina" is a small hotel managed directly by its owners.
The structure is very near to the Sanctuary "Santa Maria delle Grazie", the Chuch where Padre Pio from Pietrelcina lived, died and now lays to rest.
WHY THE NAME "LA MADONNINA" ?
The name "La Madonnina" derives from the owners' devotion to the Madonna, but also from the devotion shown by Padre Pio to Her. It is, in fact, difficult to imagine the stigmatised friar without Maria, for the many times that She appeared to him, even accompanying him to the altar. Padre Pio, in fact, called the "Madonna della Libera" the patron of his native town, Pietrelcina, "'a Madonnella nostra", and it is from these words - 'a Madonnella - that "La Madonnina " derives.

WHY CHOOSE "LA MADONNINA" AMONGST SO MANY HOTELS IN SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO ?
Due to the limited number of rooms, "La Madonnina" is technically defined as "Affittacamere", which is basically a B&B. However, "La Madonnina" is, in every sense, a Hotel. The only real difference is that we have no restaurant, but we are literally surrounded by restaurants, pizzerias and bars, with whom we have an optimal business relationship. In other words, our clients are always treated very well, not only by us, but also by those who we collaborate with. We offer free-of-charge parking to all our clients. We are also very close to the Sanctuary / Hospital - in fact our clients usually go on foot. For those who can't walk (or don't feel like walking) we are well served by San Giovanni Rotondo's transport services. All this is "topped" by the efficiency and care of a family-run business.
